Orange jam - delicious jam

Ingredients for the orange jam (approx. 4 servings):

900 g fresh organic oranges
450 g preserving sugar
1/2 organic lemon

Preparation:

1. Wash the oranges thoroughly and rub a little orange peel into a bowl. Then peel the oranges so that the white remains are also removed. Cut the pulp into small pieces and bring to a simmer in a saucepan on the stove.

2. Add the orange peel and chop the mixture with a hand blender. Then add the preserving sugar and let it steep for 2 hours.

3. Finally, bring everything to a simmer again, stirring constantly. After about 7 minutes, make a gelation test and fill the jam into jars on a damp kitchen towel and close tightly.

Tips:

Depending on the season and taste, the delicious jam can also be refined with fresh herbs such as lavender or rosemary, simply add the herbs to the pot while cooking and take them out of the pot before filling. The pulp of a fresh vanilla pod is particularly tasty. The jam can also be refined with cinnamon in winter. The jam should be kept particularly cool and protected from light so that it can be kept for up to 3 years. An opened jam is best kept in the refrigerator
